Pussycat Dolls Present: Korka in Paradiso
The CW network's reality television contest series Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll previously featured Chelsea Korka as one of the cast members and competitors vying for membership in the burlesque pop troupe, headed up by choreographer Robin Antin. Though she didn't reach the top winning spot in the competition, she still says that she stood by her decision to join, which she describes as being fully spontaneous and a spur of the moment choice. But on the bright side, Korka also gained the support of a fan base and a number of career openings after she proved her talent during her stint on the competition.
Although she hasn't made it into the ranks of the Pussycat Dolls, she has worked onstage together with at least one member of the group during a live event. Korka has performed in Las Vegas at the Pussycat Dolls Lounge, located within the Pure Nightclub, where the show was headlined by main star Melody Thornton. Furthermore, Korka has been tapped by Antin to join an entirely new girl group that the choreographer also helms. Named "The Paradiso Girls," it is a new European outfit with Korka being the only American member.
The group has five members so far, with one from France, three from England, and then Korka herself rounding out the lineup. Korka also explained that the other girls were working together even before the Pussycat Dolls TV series began, but when Antin asked her to join up, Korka readily agreed to do so. She has said that they've been rehearsing through a lot of both singing and musical dance numbers, and working together with producers such as Will-I-Am and Fernando Garibay. Interscope Records is the label behind the group, which is also responsible for the release of Nicole Scherzinger's new album this November.
