My application status says an admission decision is deferred pending a review for student conduct?
This is my application status:
"An admission decision has been deferred pending a review for student conduct as indicated on your application. You will be contacted should additional information be needed."
When it says "as indicated in your application" it is referring to when it asked me if I had ever been charged or convicted of a felony and I said "yes" because I was charged, but not convicted. I explained how I was driving, skid on wet ground, and hit a tree. There was extremely minimal damage to the tree so I decided to try driving home. A cop pulled me over and charged me with "leaving the scene of an accident" (felony) and gave me a traffic ticket for "reckless driving." I then explained how the judge dropped the felony charge and gave me a 4 hour driving course and 3 months probation instead.
Do you think I will be denied admission because of this? I really want to go to this college (UCF).
It's possible that any application where a person was charged with a felony gets a special review.
What I'd suggest you do is contact admissions at UCF. Tell them your application status, ask them what the next steps are, and ask if they'd like any specific information from you at this point.
Then follow up with a written letter, which you fax them *today*. Not an email. A real, written letter. In the letter, tell them that UCF is your first choice college. Then tell them that if they need any additional info from you at this point, they should please contact you.
Make sure they know they are your first choice.
