World Asthma Day

World asthma day is celebrated on the 6th day of May every year. This year's asthma day was on a Tuesday. The theme is 'You can control your asthma'. This is a special day for asthma patients all over the world as this makes them feel appreciated and cared for. On this day, organizations dealing with the condition such as Gina and WHO let the world know what they have been doing to stamp out the disease.

This day is an occasion for patients to meet and share their views and struggles when dealing with the disease, mostly they encourage each other and bonds are created. Different countries celebrate this special day differently. In most, a special place is set up where people can come together and relate with one another. Some patients who are in the chronic stages of the disease get special attention on world asthma day.
