Where can I buy sushi grade salmon, hamachi in San Jose, CA?
Whole Foods usually has some great ahi tuna but that is the only sushi grade fish they have. I went to Mitsuya, on Saratoga/280 and wasnt impressed with the freshness of their 'sashimi.' My co-worker has been there a couple times and said the same thing. Race Street and Cosentinos have ahi as well but nothing else. So does anyone know where I can get small amounts, like 1 LBS at a time, of salmon or any other sushi grade fish?
There are alot of excellent sushi places in San Jose - but the best one is on Winchester in Campbell...
Why dont you go to some of your favorite places and ask them where they get their fish from - perhaps they would be willing to sell you theirs, or but it for you.
The other suggestions I would have, you've already heard... Ranch Market, Lunardis, Cosentinos, Race St.... oh, maybe that great market in Palo Alto.... grrr... I cant think of the name of it!
