Any good ROMANTIC places near Kingston, Jamaica?
My boyfriend's been telling me for years how badly he wants to go to Jamaica when he's done with school. He's almost done and his birthday is 6 months away so I brought us a ticket to Kingston, Jamaica. I was getting a superb deal and had to buy it. I know most of the tourist fly to Monetego Bay but this was just a good deal that I couldn't resist. Now my question how shall I do my planning? Are there any romantic places near Kingston? Kingston is very industrial and I really want somewhere smooth and beautiful, not too far from Kingston. Thanks!
My wife and I have been traveling to Jamaica for 12 years and only went to that side of the island 1 time. We are still kicking ourselves for not going to Port Antonino sooner. It is about a 90 min ride from Kingston, but is one of the most beautiful places on earth. Start searching for places there if you want to go beachfront, there are many great deals for hotels, and villas. Check out www.skyauction.com, there is a place called Mocking Bird Hill that you can get for about 50 a night, it is on the hillside, but it has lavish gardens and the food is fantastic! Also down the street is Boston Bay where Jerk is originated, quite yummy. Also you can go to many famous movie sets (gone but the scenery is there) such as the blue lagoon, reach falls where the waterfall scene from Cocktail was filmed.Errol Flinn's deserted island plantation is there. Club Paradise was filmed at Winneford beach, not to mention a few Bond films. Another good bet is www.cyberrentals.com if you are interested in a villa. Happy Travels!
