How can I get a $5000 sponsorship for a High School Parliamentary Procedures Team?
I am the President of my high school's Parliamentary Procedure's Team in a club named Business Professionals of America (BPA). We are a nine member team that participates in contests where we conduct a 3-main-motion-agenda in under 15 minutes. Last year alone, we placed 6th best in the USA and 2nd best in Indiana. However, taking part in these contests comes at a huge financial burden for us students($120 for State Contest and around $500 for National Contests per person). As such, I am trying to attain some sponsorship for our team so that we may continue to succeed in this endeavour. As well, parliamentary procedure is a process of efficiently conducting the business of an association and is used by Parliament, the US Congress, State Legislations, Churches, Fraternities, and many more. If you have any idea on how to get such sponsorship, I would be most greatful.
Start by contacting local Chamber of Commerce on its support. If they support you, its members will also be likely to be interested in helping your effort. Contact your local newspapers and get them to write a story on your team and its need for assistance for national competition.
