Near Home
Do you think its fair for a team to play a bowl game near home?
There are a lot of teams that will have played a bowl game in or near their home stadium. Is this very fair to the "away" team?
Known offenders: Hawaii, New Mexico, USC, Boise State, Miami, LSU
It's not fair, but what is in college football? It's all about money. The bowl committees know that putting teams in games near the school's city, will draw a bigger crowd, thus creating more revenue. Technically it's deemed as a neutral game because each school is given the same amount of tickets. But it's definitely a home field advantage to some teams.
