Mary Poppins Broadway Matinee and Sardi's Dinner with bus at 6:30. Is it possible?

I am taking a bus tour package for a "free day" in NYC trip.

I have purchased tickets to the 2:00 Mary Poppins show for a Wednesday Matinee. The Disney website says that the show is 2 hours and 45 minutes. I would love to take my mother to Sardi's for dinner, but the but the bus leaves 46th Street and Times Square at 6:30. I don't think it can be done.

Is there anywhere else in the theater district where I can make a reservation for a decent sit-down dinner that will work and get me on my bus back home? I cannot make her stand in a line and sweat whether we will make the bus or not, nor do I want to have fast food.

Or if I do a Sardi's lunch - how much before show time do I need to make the reservation?

I know there are alot of questions buried in here, I hope that you can wade through them and give me your insight.

I think a Sardi's lunch is a better idea. You won't enjoy your day at all if you are stressing about the timing of dinner and the bus.

Sardi's is very experienced in feeding pre-theater customers. Just call them, tell them when your show is, and ask them what time they recommend for the reservation. When you arrive at the restaurant, tell your wait staff (nicely) that you are catching a show.
