A neighbour who is a single mother. with no kids maintainance finds its tough so she accepted the laptop offer from A.O.L. now that the M cFee security has run out she cannot afford the fee for the sec.package on advice she installed Avast free result she couldn't get onto the net I said for her to uninstall Avast she then could then get on to the net should she then uninstall Mcfee and install Avast would this work ?Thanking for your advice
Two anti-virus programs often fight. Uninstall McAfee entirely, then install Avast! or AVG free edition. Both are free, both work very well.
Normally you can only run one anti-virus, but as many anti-malware/spyware programs as you fancy; have a look on here for loads of downloads, often free :- http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/
